3. Mare Forum Maritime Transportation of Energy Europeas a panelist, which was held in Athens, Greece on 02 March 2016.

Consul General of the Republic of Malta visited GISBIR HQ

HE Franklin Aquilina, the Consul General of the Republic of Malta visited the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) Headquarters on the date of 17 February 2016.

A delegation consisting of HE Franklin Aquilina, the Consul General of the Republic of Malta, Vedat Dogusel, Kocaeli Representative of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping and Prof. Dr. Yusuf Caliskan, LLM, JSD at Istanbul Sehir University School of Law was welcomed by Kemalettin Gur, the Secretary-General GISBIR and Aydin Alaftan, the President of GISBIR Foreign Relations Commission.

Subjects related to commercial activities and potential co-operations between Turkey and Malta were discussed in the meeting following GISBIR introductory movie and a presentation about GISBIR, the Turkish shipbuilding industry and its history.

A gift was presented to HE Franklin Aquilina, the Consul General of the Republic of Malta as a remembrance of their visit at GISBIR HQ.

GISBIR Delegation visited the Minister of Development

GISBIR Delegation headed by Murat Kıran, the President, visited the Minister of Development, Cevdet Yılmaz in his office in Ankara on the date of 08 December 2015.

Murat Kıran presented a gift to the Minister Cevdet Yılmaz as a remembrance of their visit.

OECD Delegation visited GISBIR HQ

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Economic and Development Review Committee (EDRC) Delegation visited the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) Headquarters on the date of 23 November 2015.

The OECD EDRC Delegation, consisting of Vincent Koen, OECD-Head of Division, Rauf Gonenc, Head of Turkey Desk, Volker Ziemann, Economist, Turkey Desk and Bahadır Baltutan, Treasury Expert at the Turkish Undersecretariat of Treasury, paid a visit at GISBIR HQ and was welcomed by Murat Kıran, President GISBIR, Orkun Ozek, GISBIR Board Treasurer,  Huseyin Mengi, GISBIR Board Member, Kemalettin Gur, GISBIR Secretary-General and GISBIR Secretariat. The official visit took place within the preparation of the 2016 OECD Economic Survey of Turkey.

Following a presentation regarding GISBIR, the Turkish shipbuilding and mega yacht building industry, GISBIR President Murat Kıran and GISBIR Board Members answered the questions of the OECD EDRC Delegation.

The draft Turkey Survey will be reviewed by the OECD’s Economic Development and Review Committee on 16 June 2016.

GISBIR Delegation visited The Ministry of Finance

A GISBIR Delegation consisting of Murat Kiran, the President, Orhan Torlak, the Deputy President, Huseyin Mengi, Board Member, Kemalettin Gur, the Secretary-General, Murat Eristi, the Financial Advisor, Aydin Alaftan, President of Foreign Relations Commission and Cuneyt Yalinkilic, GISBIR TV Director visited the Ministry of Finance and had a meeting with Seyit Ahmet Bas, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Finance on the date of 20 October 2015.

During the meeting, issues related to the maritime and shipbuilding industry were discussed. A remembrance was presented to Mr Bas in the closure of the meeting.
