GISBIR attended on the 15th September with TURMEPA which International Coast Cleaning Event.
On the 15th of September 2018 Saturday, in Istanbul,Caddebostan Coast, GISBIR as a member of Turkish Marine Enviroment Protection Association (TURMEPA) that Mr. Orhan TORLAK,Vice President and Mr. Murat Ercan ÖZOKUTUCU,Deputy Secretary General attended the event which organized by TURMEPA attended. The waste collected during the event was delivered to IMM Cleaning Team.
Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) is attending SMM Hamburg 2018 which is the one of the most significant exhibition in the field of maritime and shipbuilding industry. This year, SMM Hamburg will be held in Hamburg, Germany from the 4th to the 7th of September.
Nurettin ÇALIŞKAN the President of GISBIR Foreign Relations Commission, Mehtap ÖZDEMİR the Secretary-General will be representing GISBIR at SMM Hamburg 2018.
GISBIR aims at presenting Turkish Shipbuilding Industry in the international arena, enhancing the current cooperation as well as establishing new cooperation. GISBIR stand is located in the hall B4.EG with the booth number 306.
In 2016, SMM Hamburg Exhibition hosted more than 2,100 exhibitors and 50,000 trade visitors
GISBIR hosted the UFUK2020 which is one of the biggest civilian research programme in the world. Event take a place at Council hall and specialists of TUBITAK International Cooperation Department Mr. Serhat Melik, member shipyards of GISBIR, Teknopark istanbul member companies and Ship Engineers Union members attended to meeting.
At meeting TUBITAK officials made a representation about UFUK2020 aiming to make use of Ship Construction Sector ” Necessary Procedures and what type of project can attend”
UFUK2020 content of Europen Union’s 7th Environment Plan continuation and budget of 71 million Euros. And it’s aims to support to R&D and innovation.
Mrs. Mehtap Karahallı Özdemir, who worked at different levels in the Maritime Industry for many years and contributed for the sector’s improvement has been appointed as a new Secretary-General of GISBIR. Gisbir’s new Secretary-General Mrs. Özdemir graduated from Istanbul Technical University as Naval Architec and Marine Engineer and earned her MBA degree from Gebze Technical University. She has 20 years experience in maritime and industry sectors.
Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) celebrates its 47th Foundation Anniversary as the sole representative of the Turkish shipbuilding industry since the year 1971.
For the celebration event on 1st July, at Maritime Cabotage Day ; Chamber Of Turkish Naval Architects And Marine Engineers organized a breakfast early hour of the day and then the celebration a wreath had been released into the sea.
GISBIR and maritime companies have a great interest at the one of the world’s foremost international shipping exhibition Posidonia between 4-8 June 2018. Turkey’s Athenian Ambassador Mr. Yaşar Halit Çelik and Athenian Piraeus Consulate General Mrs. Oya Yaşar visited the booth of GISBIR in Posidonia Exhibition 2018.
48th Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly of the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) was held on 11 May 2018 in the headquarters of GISBIR. The list, created by Mr. Murat Kıran, current Chairman of the Board, was the only list submitted to the election. Having achieved a record attendance of 97 members, Murat Kıran received all of the votes and has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board for three years. In the 48th Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly, the legislation amendment was adopted and the number of board members was designated as eleven people.
14th Mare Forum was held on Italy 8 of May 2018. President Foreign Relations Commission Mr. Nurettin Çalışkan, Member Foreign Relations Commission Mr. M. Erhan Esinduy and Head of External Relations Miss Elvan Erken attended the conference.

First day of OTC exhibition, the booth of GISBIR visited by Consulate General of Houston Mr. Akil Öktem, Houston Commercial Attache Mr. Ahmet Zafer Gülşen and Energy Counselor Mr. Can Caner.
