The 45^th Ordinary General Assembly of GISBIR Held

The 45th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) was held on the date of 12 May 2015 at GISBIR Headquarters with the participation of GISBIR members.

Volkan Bozkır, the Minister for European Union Affairs and the Chief Negotiator of the 62nd Government and Şadi Yazıcı, the Mayor of Tuzla visited the GISBIR HQ and gathered with the re-elected GISBIR President, new Board and GISBIR members.

The sole list for the election under the Presidency of Murat Kıran was elected to execute the Presidency for another 3 years. In his speech, Murat Kıran thanked all members for their complaisance.

GISBIR Participated Sea Asia 2015

Bilgehan Bayramoglu, GISBIR Deputy President participated Sea Asia 2015, which took place in Singapore between 21-23 April 2015.

Sea Asia 2015 confirmed its place as Asia’s largest maritime event with a 23% increase in attendance at the 2015 edition last week.

MYK-GISBIR Cup Sailing Regatta was held with GISBIR sponsorship

MYK-GISBIR Cup Sailing Regatta, which was sponsored by the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) and hosted by Marmara Sailing Club was held in Istanbul between the dates 28-29 March 2015.

HE Janis Bjørn Kanavin, the Norwegian Ambassador in Turkey, gave an interview for GISBIR TV.

President GISBIR met the Dutch Consul General

Mr Murat Kiran, President GISBIR met HE Robert Schuddeboom, the Consul General of the Netherlands during the Holland-Turkey Maritime Networking Reception.

GISBIR supported Europort Istanbul 2015 took place

Exposhipping – Europort Istanbul 13th International Maritime Exhibition was organised between 11th and 14st March 2015 at the Istanbul Exhibition Centre on behalf of the IMEAK Turkish Chamber of Shipping with the co-operation of the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) by UBM NTSR International Exhibition Organisations and AHOY Rotterdam.

Mr Murat Kiran, President GISBIR made an opening speech for the opening ceremony, which welcomed prominent people such as  Deputy Secretary Özkan Poyraz and Talat Aydin, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Mr Metin Kalkavan, Chairman the Turkish Chamber of Shipping, HE Robert Schuddeboom Dutch Consul General in Istanbul and HE Janis Bjørn Kanavin, the Norwegian Ambassador.

Europort Istanbul brought together 300 exhibitors, 700 brands and 7000 sector professionals from 35 different countries. The Europort Istanbul will be organised on a single area  more than 11.000 square metres.

Ministry of Labor and Social Security Meeting was held at GISBIR Headquarters

Occupational Health and Safety Program Supervision Preliminary Meeting of the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security Meeting was held at Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) Headquarters on 6 February 2015.

A broad participation by GISBIR member shipyards’ representatives was present during the meeting.

Mr Murat Gursoy, the Labour Inspector and two delegates from the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security gave briefing and answered the questions of GISBIR member shipyards’ representatives.

GISBIR TV Starts to Broadcast

Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) channel GISBIR TV starts to broadcast on Youtube.

GISBIR TV will broadcast news, interviews and updates with various contents not only about shipbuilding industry and maritime.

GISBIR Donated a Generator to an Animal Shelter

Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) donated a Generator with a capacity of 25 KVA to an Animal Shelter in Istanbul on 30 January 2015. The assembling of the generator was made by GISAS Shipbuilding Co. Inc.

50 healthy and disabled dogs are taken care of in the shelter, which is located in Polonezkoy, Beykoz, Istanbul.
