3rd Black Sea Ports and Shipping

The 3rd Black Sea Ports and Shipping will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 September 2014 with valuable support of the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR). Kosder Founding President Salih Zeki Cakir participated the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) Board Meeting chaired by Murat Kiran, President GISBIR at GISBIR Headquarters on the date of 05 August 2014.
Aiming at a more active presence of the Turkish shipbuilding industry in the future, subjects, focusing on the model study regarding the industrial incentive or state aid, which will be prepared to submit the Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications, were tackled.

GISBIR participated the Graduation Ceremony of the Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering

Mr. Sebahattin Aslan, Board Member Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) participated the Graduation Ceremony of the Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering on the date of 18 July 2014 (today) on behalf of GISBIR. Mr. Aslan  presented the 6 ranking students with half gold coin one each during the ceremony

GISBIR participated the Graduation Ceremony of the Yıldız Technical University

Mr. Ercan Ozokutucu, the Deputy Secretary-General Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) participated the Graduation Ceremony of the Yıldız Technical University Faculty of Naval Architecture and Maritime Naval Architecture and Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering on the date of 11 July 2014 (today) on behalf of GISBIR. Mr Ozokutucu  presented the 6 ranking students with half gold coin one each during the ceremony, where Mr. Ozokutucu also came together with Mr. Tansel Timur, Head of Shipbuilding and Technical Department, Chamber of Shipping, Mr. Mustafa Gursoy, Chairman Gurdesan Shipyard and Mr. Mustafa Zorlu, the Chairman of the Board, Türk Loydu.

GISBIR participated the Graduation Ceremony of the Istanbul Technical University

Mr. Ercan Ozokutucu, the Deputy Secretary-General Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) participated the Graduation Ceremony of the Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty on behalf of GISBIR. During the ceremony, Mr. Ozokutucu came together with Mr. Mustafa Zorlu, the Chairman of the Board, Türk Loydu and Mr. Bulent Alniacik, the Vice Chairman.

A Spanish Trade Delegation visited GISBIR Headquarters

A Spanish Trade Delegation consisting of representatives from maritime and shipbuilding companies visited the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) Headquarters on 24 June 2014 for a meeting organized by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office Istanbul, España Exportación e Inversiones (ICEX) and Andalucia Autonomous Community Foreign Trade Centre in order to inquire about the Turkish shipbuilding industry, to promote their products and services and to carry out bilateral negotiations with the Turkish companies.

Mr. Orkun OZEK, Board Treasurer GISBIR, Mr. Ercan OZOKUTUCU, the Deputy Secretary-General GISBIR and the GISBIR Secretariat welcomed the Spanish Trade Delegation and Mr. OZEK made a detailed presentation in English regarding the history and the current status of GISBIR and the Turkish shipbuilding industry.

Mr. Ergun AMASYALI, the Deputy Head and Mr. Ignacio Enriquez AMILIBIA, the Commercial Attache of the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office Istanbul thanked Mr. OZEK for the presentation he made giving new information regarding the capacity of the Turkish shipyards and the projects, stating that they will be pleased to take steps towards collaborations between Turkey and Spain.

GISBIR participated European Commission Workshop

Suheyl Demirtas, the Secretary-General Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) participated the International Workshop on Support Activities for the Development of Maritime Clusters in the Mediterranean and Black Sea areas, which was organized by the Directorate-General for Maritime affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission (DG MARE).
